for May 29 show in Baltimore

The granddaddy of all spring radio festivals, the HFStival, will celebrate its tenth anniversary in a new location but with the same impressive menu of modern rock heavyweights. For the first time, the all-day WHFS-sponsored radio show will move from the beleaguered RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., to the year-old Raven Stadium in nearby Baltimore, Md.

The HFStival, which will take place on May 29, will likely feature main-stage acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Offspring, Goo Goo Dolls, Sugar Ray, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Lit, Orgy, Blink 182, and four others, according to various sources. The Chili Peppers' set will be one of their first to preview new material from their forthcoming Californication, due out in June. Blink 182 also will showcase new stuff from Enema of the State, which will be in stores three days after their performance. Lit, on the strength of their alt-rock hit "My Own Worst Enemy" (which has A Place in the Sun selling about 14,000 copies a week), gets an impressive main-stage nod.

Artists slated to appear on the second stage include Fountains of Wayne, Beth Orton and Zebrahead, with bands like Citizen King, Marvelous 3, Puya and Buckcherry also vying for the coveted gig. In all, twenty bands are expected to play this year's HFStival -- twelve on the main stage and eight on the second stage.
